2018 Spring Evening of Dance

Spring Evening of Dance features selected dance pieces from the Cumberland County Schools’ high school dance program, and Mary McArthur Elementary schools. Dance choreography is created and performed by the dance students with guidance from their teachers. The CCS All-County Dance Ensemble, an auditioned group of high school dance students will premiere a dance created by the Guest Choreographer, Cari-Lenn Miles.

Car-Lenn is native North Carolinian. she began her dance training in Raleigh at Washington Elementary. She went on to attend The University of North Carolina of the Arts in Contemporary Studies and later moved to New York City to study at The Ailey School. During her career in New York, Ms. Miles had the opportunity to work with notable artists and choreographers such as Matthew Rushing, Early Mosley, Hope Boykin, Fredrick Moore, Latrisa Harper and other well-known artists in the dance world. Ms. Miles was a quest artist with the Broadway cast of  The Lion King. 

Please join the dance teachers and dance students of the Cumberland County Schools on April 25, 2018, at the Crown Theatre.
